The 'Coach Works' Foundation programme in coaching is an intensive training programme.
It consists of a pre course questionnaire, six classroom modules, practical skills assessment, written assignment and the presentation of learning logs and continuous personal development logs.
The six programme days work broken down into three stages:
Stage 1 covers the theory and background to coaching, its place in and benefits to modern business, qualities of a coach, code of ethics. We will also explore values, beliefs and personal and team motivations. The practise session will be based on exploring our own values and beliefs the action learning assignment will be based on –contracting and defining the issue.
Stage 2 focuses on the building tools used in coaching, explanation of coaching models, introduction to coaching practice, initial coaching role-plays and client/coach engagement, how to handle the first session. The practise sessions will be based on Questioning and Listening Skills and the action learning assignment will be based on – defining the Goals and Clarifying Reality
Stage 3 focuses on key tools and assessment. Each delgate will be introudcued to emotional intelligence and provided with their own EI report. The practise sessions will be based on Body language and building rapport and the action learning assignment will be based on – exploring options and confirming commitment
During this stage all delegates will have the opportunity to practise a complete coaching session. This will be videoed and critiqued.
The delegate is under continuous assessment throughout the programme and should meet a required standard prior to being presented with their certificate in Foundation to Coaching (Level 2) accredited by the International Institute of Coaching.
All delegates who have successfully completed the Foundation level 2 programme will be eligible for a Diploma Course in Coaching programme. The credits from the Foundation level 2 programme will be transferable to the Diploma programme.
Completion of pre course questionnaire
Successful completion of all modules
Satisfactory completion of the practical skills assessment
Satisfactory completion of essay assignment (1,000 word essay)
Presentation of Learning Log
Presentation of Continuous Personal Development Log
