Gerry is an Executive Coach and the Director of Mindshare and a member of the MaST Ireland Executive Coaching Panel. He has extensive experience of the financial services sector and has been involved in Executive Coaching in a broad range of Sectors at Director and Senior Management Level
Gerry graduated from Queens University Belfast with an Economics and Accountancy degree. He also holds Post Graduate Certificate in Education and an MBA from the University of Manchester.
Gerry spent 26 years in Financial Services with the Allied Dunbar Group. He entered sales management in 1987 and over next six years built up a team of 50 financial advisors – all recruitment was carried out through personal networking and headhunting from competitor companies. This team was regularly one of the top performing sales teams in the UK based on a measure of sales productivity per person.
In 1997 Gerry was promoted to Executive Sales Director for London and the South East. All of the above took place against a backdrop of unprecedented change in the UK financial services industry – increasing regulation, increasing costs and growing compliance.
In late 1999 he was approached by the J. Rothschild Group with a view to setting up a wealth management/financial services business for them in Northern Ireland. In early 2000 he took up the challenge as Regional Director for the J.R.A. Group in Northern Ireland. This was a ‘greenfield’ operation and by 2004, he had built up a team of 29 advisors, 3 sales managers and a full administration/compliance support facility with an annual sales volume of £1million of initial commissions.
In 2004 Gerry decided to step out of corporate life and set up his own executive coaching and mentoring business. The business focuses on delivering a bespoke, confidential coaching facility to directors and senior managers and in this regard, he has teamed up with MaST Ireland.
